History
The Handcycling Association UK (HCAUK)
was formed by a group of enthusiastic handcyclists in 1999 that
enjoyed the sport. Since then the sport has aligned itself with
various organisations.
The racers joined the BHPC Calendar of events around
the country long before the association was formed and the BRITISH
GRAND PRIX SERIES still includes races with the BHPC.

Since 2004, the HCAUK
has worked closely with the BRITISH CYCLING FEDERATION (BCF) in
the development of the sport. The GP events also include BCF sanctioned
road races and CYCLING TIME TRIALS (CTT) have allowed the racers
into the RUDY PROJECT TT SERIES in 2005.

In 2004 the HCAUK was
accepted onto the European Handcycling Circuit (EHC) the mainstay
and driving force in the world development of handcycling. On
August 7th 2005, the HCAUK organised the first EHC International
handcycle race on British soil, as part of CYCLEFEST 2005 at the
Castle Combe Race Circuit.
The future certainly
looks bright...
